Last night, my fiance informed me that Sanjaya Malakar had successful advanced to the next round. I wrote about how important it is for all American citizens to make sure they vote for him -> here. Now there are only eight contestants left, and Sanjaya is one step closer to the title of American Idol. I must admit that I have never experienced satisfaction from a show that I find unbearable to watch. Once again, this is not about rooting for the underdog, but just an opportunity to upset many people all at the same time. Yes Christine, it is my fault.
Came across a clip of that old school cartoon, The Jetsons on Youtube. Just a reminder how Hanna and Barbara continue to mock us from the grave. I’m still patiently waiting for that flying car. Until then, I’ll hold off on getting a driver’s license.
It’s Tuesday. Don’t watch American Idol, but vote for Sanjaya Malakar, and collectively ruin American Idol. The kids over at votefortheworst.com have been trying to sway the popular vote for the last few seasons. I just think that it is hilarious that people take this show so seriously.
I found some actual hate e-mail’s the website had received from an overzealous idolite, and found it humorous:
I AM SENDING THIS E-MAIL TO GIVE A WARNING. IF YOU DO NOT PUT AN END TO THIS PIECE OF JUNK WEBSITE, I WILL CREATE A DIFFERENT WEBSITE THAT WILL URGE PEOPLE TO NEVER VOTE FOR SANJAYA AGAIN. ALSO, IF SANJAYA WINS BECAUSE OF THIS SITE, I WILL URGE PEOPLE TO BOYCOTT THE SHOW UNTIL CANCELLATION. BECAUSE OF THIS WEBSITE, TALENTED PEOPLE WHO SHOULD HAVE STAYED IN THIS COMPETITION ARE BEING SENT HOME FOR ALL THE WRONG REASONS. THE MAIN REASONS ARE FOR TEENAGE GIRLS WHO FORGET THAT THIS IS A SINGING COMPETIOTION [sic] AND NOT A BEAUTY CONTEST, AND BECAUSE OF THIS CRAPPY WEBSITE. IF ANYONE HAS A PROBLEM WITH THIS SHOW, MY SUGGESTION IS TO STOP LISTENING TO THIS STUPID WEBSITE AND NEVER VOTE FOR SANJAYA AGAIN. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
The all caps formatting, is true to form. I did not make any edits. Anyway, I think that one idiot fan gave up on her hunger strike.
The kid is a horrible singer, have you seen this clip yet? Yikes.
So for the serious trouble maker, I suggest that you check out dialidol software. Dialidol has the following features:
- Allows you to speed dial and vote for any American idol contestant throughyour computer.
- Predicts which contestant is getting the most votes by measuring busy signals.
- Works on any show which uses a dialing voting system.
The downside is that you need a modem and a phone line to operate this program. But, for those of you who collect legacy hardware, let’s get cracking.
